  Author Guidelines

Journal of Nursing Practice and Education (JNPE) accept manuscript under following categories:

  • • Original Research Articles
  • • Review Articles
  • • Short communications
  • • Case report/study

Please refer to the JNPE manuscript template for detail instructions on specific formats for manuscript preparation.


  Original Article:

Original Research Articles should be divided into the sections of Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Objectives, Hypothesis, Methodology, Results, Recomentations, Conclusion, References, Table and Figure legends. Manuscripts submitted as original research articles should have a limit of 3000 words (excluding abstract and references). Abstract should be of 250 words maximum and unreferenced.


  Topic Review and Systematic Review Articles:

The review can be a topic review or systematic review. It should cover a topic of interest for the general issues and should address a problem and solution of issues. Reviews should offer a broad view of the field. The review Abstract should have not more than 250 words and include: Objectives, Data Sources, and Conclusion. The main text should be divided into Introduction, Data Sources, Resources Selection, Review, Discussion, and Conclusion. Search strategies must be described and the use of evidence-based systematic approaches is expected. The Discussion and Conclusion should address the relevance to poster of Nursing and should be supported with clinically relevant photographs. Review papers should be limited to 3000 words (excluding the title and references) and illustrations are encouraged.


  Case Reports Articles:

Case reports should include Abstract, Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion and Conclusion/ Recommendation when necessary. The Abstract should have not more than 250 words and summarize the case. The article should emphasize the new information provided and the relevance to general practitioners. Sufficient follow-up period is required, and high-quality images should be included. Case reports should not exceed 2500 words with maximum 10 references.


  Short communication:

These should be used for interesting but simpler cases, which the authors would like to share with the readers. The abstract is not mandatory and the main text is limited to 1000 words. Only five to eight references can be included.


  Peer Review:

The selection of the reviewers is made based on their expertise, which matches with the paper. During the manuscript submission, authors are required to suggest minimum three suitable reviewers who are expert in the subject matter of the submitted manuscript. Authors should make sure that the suggested reviewers are totally independent and not connected to their work in any way. It is strongly recommended to suggest a mix of reviewers from different countries and different institutions. When suggesting reviewers, the Corresponding Author must provide an institutional email address for each suggested reviewer, or, if this is not possible to include other means of verifying the identity such as a link to a personal homepage, a link to the publication record or a researcher or author ID in the submission form. Please note that the Journal may not use the suggestions, but suggestions are appreciated and may help facilitate the peer review process.
