The term chemotherapy is a general one used in association with any treatment involving the use of chemical agents to stop cancer cell growth. A number of people fear chemotherapy treatment because they have heard that it may present side effect which are comfortable management of the side effects related to chemotherapy has come a long way over the last few decades’ number of the side effects related to chemotherapy treatment may be either controlled or prevented entirely. The objectives of the study are to assess the level of knowledge, to determine the effectiveness of information booklet on selected side effects of chemotherapy among patients with cancer. A Pre –experimental design was chosen with the 60 patients who are having cancers under chemotherapy as treatment was selected by using convenient sampling technique. Out of 60 patients 50 (83.4%) of them had inadequate knowledge and 10 (16.6%) of them had moderately adequate knowledge and None of them are having Adequate knowledge. Out of 60 patients 14 (26.6 %) of them had moderately adequate knowledge and 46 (73.4%) of them had Adequate level of knowledge. The calculated ‘t’ values are greater than table value (t = 3.460, P<0.001) showing that there was significant difference in the pre- and post- on self care management of selected side effects of chemotherapeutic drugs among patients with cancer. The chi – square test revealed that there was no significant association with demographic variables at the level of P<0.05.

The study approach adopted for the study was pre experimental one group pre test and post test research design to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge and attitude on prevention of computer vision syndrome among software professionals working in selected i t companies, bangalore. The sample size consists of 50 software professionals. Data will be collected by administering the structured knowledge questionnaire and five point liker attitude scales. STP was given to the sample before and after test. Convenient sampling technique was used to select the software professionals. Regarding the effectiveness of structured teaching programme the finding of the study showed that the overall mean percentage of pre and post-test knowledge score was 20%, with t value 27.238 which was highly significant at P< 0.001 level. Mean percentage of pre and post attitude score was 2%, with t value 16.97 which was highly significant at P< 0.001 level. The post-test knowledge and attitude score was significantly higher than the pre-test knowledge and attitude score. Hence it was concluded that the hypothesis (H1) is accepted.

Chronic respiratory disease affects people of all ages This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of video assisted teaching programme on knowledge regarding pulmonary therapy among patients with chronic respiratory diseases. The research design adopted for the present study was Pre-experimental one group pre-post test design with the help of questionnaire on knowledge of pulmonary therapy for chronic respiratory diseases. The samples for the study consisted the patients who meet the eligibility criteria at Teerthankar Mahaveer Medical Hospital and Research Centre, Moradabad, sample size was 50 and sampling technique used for this study was non-probability purposive sampling. As per the study findings, the level of knowledge was adequate only in 12% in the pre test, whereas during post test; the level of knowledge of study subjects was adequate among 44% and none of them was inadequate level of knowledge. There was a significant difference in the mean scores between pretest and post test in relation to knowledge of chronic respiratory disease patients, regarding pulmonary therapy. There is significant association between the knowledge and demographic variable education, types of occupation of the chronic respiratory disease patient at p<0.05 level. Video assisting programme was effective to increase the knowledge regarding pulmonary therapy among chronic respiratory disease patients.

Seven pounds, ten fingers, ten toes, two eyes and zero instructions. Human being tends to think their own offspring as one of the most helpless newborns on planet Earth. But human baby is not as helpless as we might think. Mother Nature equips newborns with wonderful innate sense of cues. One such example called ‘Breast Crawl’ demonstrates process of initiating breastfeeding exclusively by baby’s own ability.A pre experimental study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of video assisted planned teaching programme on the knowledge regarding breast crawl among antenatal mothers in selected hospital, Tumkur. The research design was one group pretest post test design. The total study sample consists of 50 antenatal mothers in a selected hospital at Tumkur, selected by purposive sampling technique. The mean of overall pre test knowledge score was 13.86 and the mean of overall post test knowledge score was 27.04 .Improvement in the knowledge score of the samples from pre test to post was tested for statistical significance using paired t-test (t=2.70), shows significant difference between pre and post test score(p0.05 )

An exchange transfusion involves removing almost whole of patient blood and substitution with donor blood so as to get rid of abnormal blood constituents and existing toxins while maintaining adequate circulating blood volume. It is primarily performed to remove antibodies and excess bilirubin in isoimmune disease, the incidence of exchange transfusion is decreasing secondary to the prevention, and improved prenatal management of alloimmune hemolytic disease and improvements in the management of neonatal hyperbilirubinaemia. Exchange transfusion involves the consequent withdrawal and injection of aliquots of blood, through arterial and venous lines, either peripheral or central. The volume of blood for exchange is calculated using an estimate of the neonate's existing blood volume. Double volume, single volume and partial exchange transfusions are available. The most usually reported adverse events during or soon after exchange transfusion are umbilical or peripheral access device related complications; air emboli; thrombosis; hemorrhage. Other potential complications related to exchange transfusion are arrhythmias, bradycardia, septicemia, blood born infection and hypo or hyperthermia.

Mrs. Jasmi Johnson, and Dr.Prof.S.N. Nanjunde Gowde

Questioning techniques square measure a heavily used, and therefore wide researched, teaching strategy. Research indicates that asking queries is second solely to lecture. Teachers usually pay anyplace from thirty-five to fifty % of their educational time asking queries. But square measure these queries effectively in raising student achievement? How will academics raise higher queries of their students? How can current educational research inform practice? How can teachers make use of these findings? Teachers typically have very little or no coaching in questioning techniques, so being familiar with the research is a good place to start. Improving during this space needs a reflective and metacognitive approach. Being competent in questioning is a very important basic step towards changing into an efficient lecturer. Developing the skills necessary to help students draw on and apply acquired knowledge in new, unique situations requires the skilled use of questioning. Most experienced lecturers use both written and verbal questioning, but evidence suggests that the majority of their questioning is posted at lower cognitive levels of description. Quality teaching needs students to be engaged with the content of learning tasks designed to succeed in understanding. Using questioning suitably facilitates the training method by requiring the coed to participate within the method and to attain higher comprehension skills by deed deep, elaborate understanding of the topic.
