Current Concept in Adhesive Dentistry (Review Article) Pramodani Patel, Apoorva Singh, Rajanikanth A.V. View/Download | Abstract »Adhesive dentistry is based on the development of materials which establish an effective bond with the tooth tissues. In this context, adhesive systems have attracted considerable research interest in recent years. Successful adhesive bonding depends on the chemistry of the adhesive, on appropriate clinical handling of the material as well as on the knowledge of the morphological changes caused on dental tissue by different bonding procedures. |

Re-restoration of all ceramic crown using cast post and core in a young male patient-A Clinical Report Garima Guddu, Sunil Kumar Mishra,Prince Kumar, Ayinampudi Venkata Rajanikanth View/Download | Abstract »For esthetically and functionally sound restoration of endodontic ally treated tooth usually post and coreis considered as best treatment option. The dentist usually faces problem in restoration of tooth which has undergone trauma, fractures, endodontic-access preparation, canal instrumentation and other idiopathic causes. In such instances, it is necessary to evaluate, diagnose and resolve esthetic problems using a combination of endodontic, periodontal and prosthetic treatments. Cast metal post-core systems have an extended history of successful use due to their superior physical properties. This case report presents a way to re-restore fractured porcelain fused to metal crown with all-ceramic crown over a cast post and core. The function of a post is to mainly assist and prevent the abutment, on which a crown is cemented, from fracturing such that the abutment separates from the root, at a fracture plane that's located approximately and theoretically at the extent of the crown (or ferrule) margin. A post essentially improves the ferrule effect that's provided by the fixed denture prosthesis. |

Evaluation and Comparison of Marginal Fit between Complete and Partial Provisional Crowns- In Vitro Study Mukta Bansal, Asheesh Sawhny, Sridevi Nandamuri, Saurav Paul, View/Download | Abstract »Introduction: A study was conducted to measure and compare the marginal accuracy of provisional
crowns (partial and full coverage crown) fabricated by direct technique.
Materials and Methods: A direct technique was used in which temporary crowns were made on
prepared typodont teeth by using an impression as a matrix. Fifteen complete crown for molar and
fifteen partial crown for canine were made. The marginal discrepancy was determined by
stereomicroscope which measures the space between the margin of the crown and the finish line of the
preparation .The crowns which showed least marginal discrepancy were decided to have good marginal
fit. |

Distraction Ontogenesis in Orthodontics Dr. Shivendra singh, Dr. Waseem khan View/Download | Abstract »Foreign body ingestion is a common occurrence and the majority of foreign bodies that reach the Gastrointestinal tract pass spontaneously, some patients require non-operative intervention or even surgery. The one-tooth or two - tooth removable partial denture provides no cross-arch stabilization and there is the chance that it may be swallowed if it becomes dislodged. Patients should be educated on the importance of adherence to instructions of mechanics of use, life span, maintenance of dentures, and maintenance recall visits to assess the retention of dentures. It is also important the incorporation of radiopaque material in dental appliances, because the location of a swallowed or aspirated dental prosthesis often is accomplished radio graphically. This case report based on faulty prosthesis swallowed by patient which leads to non-surgical intervention under General Anesthesia. |
