All authors are required to declare if there are any issues related with human and animal rights that may be inherent in their submitted manuscript. Articles that experiment on human subjects and animals in research are required to have institutional review board approval in accordance with the ethical standards set forth in the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals (http://www.icmje.org/icmje-recommendations.pdf).
Protection of Patients’ Rights to Privacy: Identifying information should not be published in written descriptions, photographs, sonograms, CT scans, and pedigrees unless the information is essential for scientific purposes. The patient, parent, or guardian provides a written consent for the publication. After the consent has been obtained, it should be indicated in the article. The duly filled Patients’ informed consent form should be submitted along with the manuscript. Human Subject: All experiments involving human subjects will be published only if such research has been conducted in full accordance with ethical principles, including the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki as revised in 2008 which is available at: http://www.healthscience.net/resources/declaration-of-helsinki/ , and any additional requirements of the country in which the research was conducted. Manuscripts must include a statement that the experiments were undertaken with the understanding and written consent of each subject and according to the above mentioned principles. A statement regarding the fact that the study has been independently reviewed and approved by an ethical board should also be included. Editors hold the right to reject papers if there is doubt as to whether appropriate procedures have been used.
Animals: When reporting experiments on animals, authors should indicate whether the institutional and national guide for the care and use of laboratory animals was followed. The materials and methods (experimental procedures) section must clearly indicate that appropriate measures were taken to minimize pain or discomfort, and details of animal care should be provided.
